Jazzology is a good alternative, a bit of a lighter read but still covers everything Bert Ligon has two other books, Connecting Chords With Linear Harmony and Comprehensive Technique hteory Jazz Musicians. Please know that Wikipedia is especially bad for music theory topics. I would like to self learn jazz and am looking for a recommendation on the best way to go about doing It.
