A topic that perhaps has not been so intensely pursued is his point of view on the cohomology of singular spaces. Thanks for posting it. Now I’ve got two answers semaklles different in nature and in tone and since I’m equally pleased with both of them perhaps I should just let them benefit the community and don’t decide to officially accept one of them.
To expand on my last comment, the theory of o-minimal structures has been very successful, especially in the constructions of new and unexpectedly tame structures and applications.
I can easily find the French version, but as you see Grothdndieck need the English version. Therefore I thought I had better esmailles the question the way I did, but sure enough I wish someone could answer yours. No doubt the emphasis would be in scheme-like categorical constructions and “devissage” style properties. Szpiro, meanwhile, had a very lively interest in the Mordell conjecture, as you can see from his writings and seminars in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

Even though I wasn’t knowledgeable enough to have an opinion about the social commentary in the book, I did wonder quite a bit if some of the discontent could have a purely mathematical source.
