Secondly, the above-mentioned Lord Soth section would have made an excellent short story if expanded upon. Yeah, the scenes where Kit goes to meet Lord Soth sskies interesting and the highlight of the book. Kitiara attacks Laurana from behind, taking the elfmaid by surprise. This book, one of the ‘Lost Chronicles’ that fills in some of the gaps in the original series, really tells us two main stories.

Dragons of the Highlord Skies

I’m looking forward to the last book in this Lost Chronicles trilogy. Publisher Wizards of the Coast Publishing. It presents a plot following Kitiara and her plans for revenge upon a member of the Hiyhlord of the Lance. It tells the tale of how the knights Derek and Brian and Aran got involved in the quest for the dragon orb, and goes into more detail about their time in Tarsis, the nature and history of the Dragon Highlord Feal-Thas, and the intrigues between Ariakas and Kitiara.

Derek’s knights then join with the rest of the Companions to seek the Dragon Orb from Icewall Castle the details of which are only briefly discussed or alluded to in Dragons of Winter Night. The personalities of Flint and Tas are as fun and exciting as ever, and the dynamic between the two is fantastic.

Suspicion spreads about Kitiara’s possible role in the death of Verminaard and her connection to the Skiws.

Dragons of the Highlord Skies by Margaret Weis

All in all, I wa This book, one of the ‘Lost Chronicles’ that fills in some of the gaps in the original series, really tells us two main stories. Once more, I felt like I was visiting old friends… at least in the moments they were actually in the book. As detailed in Dragons of Winter Nightthe Companions find not only the Dragon Orb, but a frozen good dragon and a broken dragonlance.

Books xragons Margaret Weis. Seller name Penguin Random House. The story starts in Neraka, where Kitiara uth Matar and Emperor Ariakas hatch a plan to retrieve a dragon orb and thereby destroy Solamnia and the Companions in one fell swoop.

Imprint Wizards of the Coast. Wandered a little, was drawn out a bit, but it filled in some of the spaces left skues by Dragons Of Winter Night — though it doesn’t tell the actual story of Laurana confronting Feal-Thas, you have to find that in Tales Book 1, The Magic of Krynn. I read the previous book Dragons of the Dwarven Depths when it first came out, and drqgons rather unimpressed. It was okay, but it didn’t pull me into the story as much as the previous book in this series.

Feal-Thas, the dark elf mage, is another character I wouldn’t expect to like. She is an interesting characters with a strong personality, the ihghlord twists she goes through keep her story interesting and you want to see her do well. I generally enjoyed this one. Brian Donner’s reflections and thoughts felt like attempts to excuse Derek’s behaviour, but it just didn’t click for me.
